Daily Express has learned that Premier League giants Arsenal are considering a January bid for Monaco star Joao Moutinho.
The Gunners are expected to reinforce the squad in the upcoming transfer window and the Portugal star appears to be one of their primary targets.
According to Daily Express, Arsenal see Moutinho as a good long-term successor to veteran midfielder Mikel Arteta.
The Portugal star has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past and he is believed to be considering his options at the moment.
French giants Monaco have shown lack of ambition by cashing in on Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez, and it is thought that Moutinho could be available for £30 million.
The interesting thing is that his former and current suitors Manchester United and Arsenal will square off at the Emirates later today, with the Gunners having been made 23/20 favourites to claim maximum points.
