Arsenal’s Boxing Day match with Wolves at the Emirates Stadium has been postponed by 24 hours due to the London tube strikes.
The Premier League fixture will now be played on December 27 to avoid potential disruption caused by the industrial action which was scheduled for the same day.
The strike is the subject of a legal appeal by London Underground bosses and so may not go ahead, but Arsenal require a longer ‘preparation period’ in order to ensure the safety of supporters, according to the club’s official website.
The match on the new date will kick-off at 3pm.
Chelsea’s meeting with Fulham at Stamford Bridge has also been thrown into doubt as a result of the planned strike action.
