Arsenal’s Adebayor has agreed terms with Milan

The Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan and Emmanuel Adebayor have agreed terms in recent days. Now, Milan must just meet the €40million (Euros) asking price that Arsenal have set for their Togolese forward.

At this stage the transfer is far from done, but it shows a strong indication that Milan is ready to rejuvenate their squad and that they are trying to create a ‘new’ Milan.

Milan have also been linked with Didier Drogba (30) and Samuel Eto’o (27), but they are said to prefer Adebayor (24), as he would be considered a better investment for the future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport further reports that meantime there have been talks between Milan and Chelsea involving Carlo Ancelotti, Shevchenko, Drogba and Kaka. “We had a chat with Mr Kenyon and talked about football matters in general. We still have a very good rapport with Stamford Bridge. Did we talk about Shevchenko, Drogba and Kaka? Yes, we did, but I can tell you for example that Kaka is absolutely not for sale. Just like Ancelotti, he will be with us next season, ” said Adriano Galliani, the president of Milan.

I hope this story is true! With all the money Arsenal can make out of this deal, one less headache we have to contend with! I agree with the “gunner” that said, “let’s get the most out of this deal, because he won’t be worth much in the future.” Let’s spend some BIG money on potential talent like D. Villa, D. Silva and Veloso and retaining our current core of super stars like Cesc, Van Persie, Toure, etc.., by awarding their contracts if deserved. If AC Milan wants Adebayor so bad, I say let’s get rid of him and in return, give us Alexandre Pato!

‘Tis a good thing 4 us dat Eduardo would be fit before next season commences. All this dilly-dallying involving Adebayor and transfers can end when AW gets a David Villa so dat all d other strickers in the team would try 2 impress n not score 1 goal outta 7 chances(yours trully)

When I heard about Ade talking up Barca and the possible wage increase he was looking for I thought we had a potential future problem player. He has fallen out with club and country in the past so has a history of this. While I like him he is not the finished article and despite scoring a lot of goals he crucially missed key chances in the big games when chances are fewer. Only when a player wins you the big games on a regular basis can he demand top wages. Kevin Phillips scored a lot of goals in some seasons but the top end of Europe hardly lined up for him as he didn’t quite have that extra quality at the top end of the game. Ade may develop this but may not and with the unrest I felt that a few weeks back we should sell him while his stock is high and bring in Villa who I feel is not only top drawer but would keep Cesc happy for the next few years. A forward line of Villa with no Adebayoor is stronger than the other way round. I worry we missed the boat a few weeks back though as Villas price will rise now and AW is notorious for not buying a player who has performed well in the international competitions when their price is inflated.
