According to Sky Italia, Arsenal forward Joel Campbell has arrived in Italy to finalise his move to Serie A side Frosinone. The deal is believed to last for three years, with Campbell’s medical being scheduled for tomorrow. Since joining the club in 2011 the Costa Rican striker has been on a series of six different loan moves, being unable to take any of the chances given to him by the Gunners when awarded a place in the first team.
Campbell, 26, has represented Costa Rica at the last two World Cups, with his performances at the 2014 edition of the event capturing the attention of many top European clubs. The Gunners decided to keep hold of him, though, with Campbell failing to make any kind of impact over the last few years.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery seems intent on clearing out the deadwood at the club, which is something that Arsene Wenger always seemed to neglect to do.
