Arsenal youngster Francis Coquelin has welcomed interest from Ligue 1 champions Lille.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been showing a lot of potential this season, but with Jack Wilshire and Abou Diaby set to return, he may have to look elsewhere in search of first team football.
The Gunners are reportedly prepared to farm him out on loan in January, with LOSC Lille the favourites for his signature.
“I have not had direct contact with Lille, but it’s flattering,” Coquelin told L’Equipe.
“LOSC are a very big club. For now, the transfer window is not open and I am focused on Arsenal, but when there really is an interest, we must wait and see what happens.”
Coquelin admits that France Under-21 coach Erik Mombaerts has advised him to get more playing time at club level.
“The main idea that emerged from our conversation was that I had to play. I can do something in this team.”
