Arteta interested in Stones

According to a recent report from BBC Sport, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keeping an eye on the availability of John Stones.

The Manchester City defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad over the course of the last few months, but it’s never seemed as if the speculation has been particularly serious. The belief is that Arteta has asked his former club to keep him informed on Stones’ current situation, which means we could see some kind of movement during the January transfer window.

Arsenal seem to have solved some of their issues so far this season but there does appear to be something missing within their first team operation. Gabriel has improved the Gunners’ defensive options but there may be room for another man at the back, depending on how much value Arteta sees in David Luiz as a long term solution at centre back.
