Arteta signs new Gunners deal

Mikel Arteta has penned a new one-year contract with Arsenal, according to the Mirror.

A number of Spanish sides were monitoring the former Everton man’s situation, though he has committed himself to the North London side for a further twelve months.

The 33 year-old, who has had the offer on the table for some time is now set to head to Singapore on the Gunners’ pre-season tour after recovering from injury.

Arsenal have long been linked with a move for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, though he looks set to secure a move to Manchester United.

Arturo Vidal and Ilkay Gundogan have previously been targets for Arsene Wenger, though neither are likely to switch to the Premier League this summer.

Having finished in third place last season, the Gunners begin the forthcoming campaign at home to West Ham United, with last season’s FA Cup winners priced at 1/3 to take all three points.
