AS Monaco have agreed a deal with Liverpool to sign Takumi Minamino in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that Ligue 1 club Monaco will pay Premier League outfit Liverpool £15.5 million in transfer fees for the Japan international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
Premier League clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham and Italian outfit Atalanta wanted to sign Minamino as well, but the 27-year-old has decided to move to Monaco instead. The Japanese star has scored six goals in 40 appearances in the Premier League in his career.
Minamino made one start and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool last season, scoring three goals in the process. The attacker also scored four goals and gave one assist in the Carabao Cup and scored three goals in the FA Cup for the Reds last season.
