Uruguayan striker Rodrigo Aguirre has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A heavyweights AS Roma and the Premier League club Watford, according to Uruguay media outlet La Ora Deportiva.
The 22-year-old Udinese forward is coming off from a prolific six-month loan spell at Nacional, where he scored 10 goals in 15 competitive appearances for the Uruguayan side. Aguirre is unlikely to remain in Uruguay as he is keen to finally prove his worth in Europe after a string of several unsuccessful loan spells with Empoli, Perugia and FC Lugano.
It is understood that AS Roma and Watford have both made enquiries about the availability of the Udinese player. Giallorossi are prepared to take Aguirre on another loan, whereas the Hornets are hoping their close family ties with Udinese will help them land the talented striker.
Both Udinese and Watford are owned by the Pozzo family and the two clubs are known to regularly loan players back and forth.
