AS Roma close on Defrel

AS Roma appear to have finally made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.

The Giallorossi have been in talks with their league rivals for several weeks now, and they are currently awaiting response to their last proposal.

AS Roma offered to take the player on an 18-month loan deal that would include an €18 million by out clause.

On top of that, the Giallorossi would be prepared to include some of their talented youngsters in the deal, and that is something that Sassuolo will certainly be interested in.

Namely, they have become specialists for bringing talented Italian players on bargain deals and selling them for hefty profit, so they would gladly welcome the likes of Ricci, Tumminelo and Marchizza who could move to MAPEI Stadium.

Lorenzo Pellegrini is another youngster who has shone at Sassuolo after coming through the youth ranks at AS Roma, and the Giallorossi plan to buy him back in the summer.
