La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned that AS Roma are stepping up the efforts to sign Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.
Even though there is a long list of clubs who are keeping close tabs on the Ivorian, Italian media agree that the Giallorossi have the upper hand.
AS Roma officials recently met with the player’s representatives as they hope to secure his services in the summer transfer window, although they still need to agree a transfer fee with Atalanta.
After they made an unsuccessful attempt to land the 20-year-old in January, the Giallorossi are determined to make things right at the end of the season, and they should eventually get their man.
Kessie has impressed in his first ever Serie A campaign, scoring 6 goals in 21 league outings to help Orobici mount a serious top 4 challenge against all odds.
And while Atalanta may not be able to keep hold of their star player next summer, they will certainly be well compensated for their loss.
