Italian Serie A high-flyers AS Roma are weighing up January bid for Montpellier hotshot Morgan Sanson, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Giallorossi have yet to recruit an attack-minded footballer to help compensate for Mohamed Salah’s unavailability during January and February, and the Frenchman is one of the players they are looking at.
Marseille are also keen on his services, but it would appear as though AS Roma are closer to securing his signature.
Luring Sanson to Stadio Olimpico in January will be no easy task though considering that Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin said on Monday that he would only sell the midfielder for €20m-€25m.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form this season, having managed 3 goals and 6 assists in 19 Ligue 1 outings, and even though he is prepared to stay with la Paillade until the end of the season, summer exit seems likely.
