AS Roma join chase for Neto

Italian giants AS Roma are showing interest in Fiorentina goalkeeper Noberto Neto, La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested.

The Giallorossi have yet to sign a long-term replacement for veteran Morgan De Sanctis and the Brazilian shot-stopper is one of the players they are looking at.

However, it is Serie A champions Juventus that are believed to be leading the chase at the moment, with Liverpool also keen.

It is hardly surprising Neto has a long list of suitors among Europe’s top clubs given that his contract at Artamio Franchi is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

The Brazilian developed into one of league’s top goalkeepers during his time at Fiorentina, but is set to leave Viola for greener pastures in two months’ time.

Fiorentina play host to Hellas Verona later today hoping to close the gap behind their top 3 rivals, with home win paying 4/9.
