Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has emerged as a top target for AS Roma, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Croatian footballer has been on their radar for quite some time, and the Giallorossi have now decided to make their move.
AS Roma sporting director Monchi has already established contact with the player’s representatives, as well as Real Madrid.
While los Blancos are keen on Brazilian shot-stopper Alisson, the Giallorossi plan to keep hold of the talented goalkeeper and at the same time lure Kovacic to Stadio Olimpico.
The 23-year-old has struggled for playing time at Santiago Bernabeu and he will evaluate his options at the end of the season, with a return to Serie A seemingly on the cards.
