AS Roma want Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek

AS Roma are interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport. New Roma head coach Jose Mourinho wants to add physicality to his midfield and has identified Loftus-Cheek as a potential target in the final days of the window.

Loftus-Cheek has been at Chelsea since 2014 and has worked with Mourinho during the Portuguese’s second spell as manager at Stamford Bridge. However, the 25-year-old England international has failed to establish himself in the first team and has been out on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham in recent years.

Chelsea have a strong and settled midfield and won the Champions League last season. Manager Thomas Tuchel might not have any need for Loftus-Cheek, who was on loan at Fulham last season. If Chelsea get a good offer from Roma, then the Premier League giants could well decide to cash in on the 25-year-old.
