Serie A giants AS Roma are busy in the transfer market as club’s new sporting director Monchi makes great effort to forge a competitive squad that will be able to compete with Juventus for the Italian title.
Giallorossi have already signed Federico Fazio, Hector Moreno, Mario Rui, Juan Jesus, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bruno Peres and Rick Karsdorp whereas the Italian giants have all but secured the signature of the Olympique Lyon star Maxime Gonalons.
The French international has already arrived in Rome where he will be submitted to a series of medical examinations before he puts pen to paper on a contract worth €2.5 million.
The 28-year-old arrives of the back of a €5 million transfer.
Elsewhere, AS Roma have set sights on the 26-year-old Sassuolo star Gregoire Defrel. Giallorossi have had a €15 million offer rejected with Sassuolo asking between €25 and €30 million for their striker.
Defrel scored 16 goals and managed 5 assists in 38 competitive appearances for Sassuolo last season.
Leicester City have also been keeping tabs on the Sassuolo star.
