Ashley Cole linked with MLS switch

ESPN is reporting that Chelsea star Ashley Cole might be moving to the MLS at the end of the current campaign.

The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer and having lost his place in the side at Stamford Bridge he is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Blues.

He has so far been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, but the latest reports are suggesting a move to MLS is on the cards.

Thierry Henry has reportedly contacted his former teammate to ask him about joining New York Red Bulls in the summer and such an arrangement could appeal to the England international.

Ashley Cole had raised a few eyebrows when he decided to leave Arsenal for Chelsea in the summer of 2006, but that proved to be a good career move as he went on to win eight major titles at Stamford Bridge.

The full-back has made a total of 225 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and scored 7 goals in the process.
