Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club on Wednesday.
Assou-Ekotto, 25, scored his first goal for Spurs with a superb strike in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool and boss Harry Redknapp is delighted with the Cameroon defender’s progress.
“He has done very well,” Redknapp said at the end of last season.
“He was injured last year but I have been very impressed with him as he has been in great form. He has looked an outstanding left-back.”
