Aston Villa about to sign Lucas Digne from Everton

Aston Villa are close to signing Lucas Digne from Premier League rivals Everton, according to BBC Sport. It has been reported that talks between the Villans and the Toffees have reach an advanced stage, and that the 28-year-old France international left-back is set to complete a £25 million transfer.

Chelsea and Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in Digne, but Villa are now in pole position. It seems that it is only a matter of time before the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain left-back becomes a Villa player.

Digne has fallen out of favour with Everton manager Rafael Benitez. The left-back is one of the best players in his position in the Premier League and is at the top of his game at the moment.
