Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of former Chelsea captain John Terry, according to the Mirror.
The thirty-six year old is set to complete his move to the Championship side at the weekend, when his contract with the Blues expires.
The move would see him avoid having to face the club he has been with his entire career next season, unless of course they are drawn together in either domestic cup competition.
Terry called time on his twenty-two year association with Chelsea at the end of last season after helping them clinch the Premier League trophy for the fifth time.
He has, as captain, been part of the squads that enjoyed all of those successes while he also has won five FA Cups, three League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League during his time at Stamford Bridge while internationally he was capped seventy-eight times for England.
