Aston Villa desperate to keep hold of Vlaar

Premier League high-flyers Aston Villa aim to start negotiations over a new contract for star defender Ron Vlaar, according to Daily Express.

Considering that Vlaar’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, Aston Villa officials are eager to start formal talks with the player’s representatives.

Persuading the experienced defender to sign a new deal at Villa Park could prove to be a very difficult task given that he is on the radar of Europe’s top clubs, but the Villans are not prepared to give up without a fight.
