Aston Villa are interested in signing Ante Budimir from Real Mallorca in the summer transfer window, according to Marca. It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Premier League club Villa have enquired about securing the services of the 29-year-old forward.
Villa, though, are not the only club from the Premier League who are looking at the Croatian, who got relegated with Mallorca from La Liga at the end of last season. Sheffield United, who narrowly missed out on an European place last season, have also reportedly made enquiry about the former Sampdoria man.
According to WhoScored, Budimir made 33 starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga for Mallorca last season, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in the process. It remains to be seen if Mallorca are open to selling their star forward, as they could do with him this season in their quest to bounce straight back into the top flight of Spanish football.
