French daily newspaper L’Equipe understands that Aston Villa are set to make a move on Monaco starlet Anthony Martial.
With Liverpool having matched Christian Benteke’s release clause, the Villans are already on the lookout for his replacement.
According to L’Equipe, the Premier League side have made Monaco’s Anthony Martial their primary target.
Aston Villa have already contacted the player’s representatives on several occasions, although they will not have an easy job persuading the forward to join seeing that he only recently signed a new deal at Stade Louis II.
Monaco made a great job by snatching Anthony Martial from Lyon two years ago and the €5 million they paid for him does not look much now that the 19-year-old has set Ligue 1 alight.
After showing some promise in his first season at Stade Louis II, the youngster went on to make 35 league appearances last term, scoring 9 goals in the process.
