Aston Villa fans praised

Aston VillaÂ’s fans were praised by winger Ashley Young for their treatment of midfielder Gareth Barry.

Gareth Barry has been at the centre of a storm at the club since his wanting to leave for Liverpool and the impasse between him and boss Martin OÂ’Neill.

The Villa fans gave the midfielder an ecstatic reception when he took his place on the field in VillaÂ’s UEFA Intertoto win over Odense on Saturday.

Young added that he thought that the Villa fans were recognising the fact that Gareth Barry had always been a faithful servant of the club and were showing their appreciation of that fact.
