Aston Villa are considering a move for West Bromwich Albion forward Rickie Lambert, according to the Express.
The Villains are preparing for their first season outside the top division in almost thirty years, and are keen to add more fire power as they look to secure an immediate return to the top flight under the guidance of new manager Roberto Di Matteo.
Lambert only moved to The Hawthorns last summer, with his only goal in twenty-four appearances coming in a 3-2 defeat to eventual champions Leicester City back in October.
Prior to his move to West Brom, the forward had a season at Liverpool while it was at Southampton where he made his name, scoring one hundred and seventeen goals in two hundred and thirty-five games.
During his time at St Mary’s he gained international recognition and won one of his eleven England caps at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
