Aston Villa in talks with Chelsea over Conor Gallagher

Aston Villa are in talks with Premier League rivals Chelsea over the signing of Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. Gallagher is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of next season, and Villa manager Unai Emery has earmarked the England international midfielder as a top target.

The Athletic has claimed that Villa have held preliminary talks with Chelsea over Gallagher. The Villans, who finished fourth in the Premier League table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League next campaign, are also in discussions with Gallagher’s camp.

Gallagher has come through the Chelsea youth system and has established himself in the first team. The 24-year-old England international was one of the best players for the Blues last season. He scored five goals and gave seven assists in 37 Premier League matches and also provided two assists in five starts and two substitute appearances in the Carabao Cup for the London club.
