Aston Villa interested in Konrad Laimer of RB Leipzig

Aston Villa are interested in signing Konrad Laimer from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that the Premier League outfit are among a number of clubs keen on securing the services of the Austria international midfielder.

Laimer is out of contract at Leipzig in the summer of 2023, and the Bundesliga club do not think that he is going to put pen to paper on a new deal. The midfielder has made 14 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in the process. Laimer has also given one assist in six Europa League matches this season.

Villa are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 43 points from 35 matches, while RB Leipzig currently find themselves fourth in the Bundesliga table with 57 points from 33 games.
