Aston Vila are ready to build their Premier League team. After beating Derby County in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, the Villans have returned to the main stage and they want to stay there. After signing 10 players so far this summer, Villa have spent close to €90m and it looks like they are not going to stop there.
Now they are targeting a new goalkeeper and two names stand out. Media in England are linking the club with Jack Butland and Tom Heaton. Butland, who is still Stoke City’s first goalkeeping choice, could be getting another shot at the Premier League level. Heaton, on the other hand, has been outstanding for Burnley in the top flight in the past two years.
There were even rumours of Aston Villa making a bid for Heaton, but now Butland is amongst targets, as Burnley are still asking for €12m, which is a bit too high for the club returning to Premier League.
