Aston Villa linked with Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon

Aston Villa are interested in signing Unai Simon from Athletic Bilbao in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that the Villans are looking for a new goalkeeper, and that they have the Spain international on their radar.

Simon has been on the books of Bilbao since 2016 and has established himself as the number one goalkeeper for the Basque club. The 25-year-old is also the first choice between the posts for Spain and played for his country at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Villa are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points from 15 matches, five points above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Bilbao currently find themselves fourth in the La Liga table with 24 points from 14 games.
