Aston Villa linked with Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson

Aston Villa want to sign Dean Henderson from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to The Manchester Evening News. It has been reported that Villa expressed an interest in signing the 23-year-old goalkeeper on loan from Premier League rivals United.

Villa are in need of a new goalkeeper with Tom Heaton still injured and Pepe Reina having parted company following his loan spell at Villa Park during the second half of last season. Henderson returned to United at the end of last season following a successful loan spell at Sheffield United and signed a new contract with the Red Devils.

However, Villa wanted to sign the Englishman on loan for the 2020-21 campaign after he committed his long-term future to United. The Red Devils and Henderson, though, have decided that the goalkeeper will stay at the club and fight for his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting lineup.
