Aston Villa’s new owners have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur’s £25 million bid for Jack Grealish has officially been rejected. The Premier League side have been heavily invested in trying to bring Grealish to North London before the transfer window shuts, but with just over 24 hours remaining until that happens, Villa executive chairman Nassef Sawiris has told clubs that he isn’t interested in their money – according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old has been at the forefront of Villa’s midfield for a few years now, and he’s long since been viewed as the best player at Villa Park by a country mile. Many fans were concerned that a last-minute departure could lead to a complete and utter collapse that impacts the remainder of the Championship season, but all signs seem to be pointing towards him staying as opposed to trying his hand in the top flight once again.
Aston Villa will be hoping to see him turn out on Saturday against Wigan Athletic.
