Aston Villa sign Terry

Aston Villa have completed the signing of former Chelsea captain, John Terry according to the Telegraph.

The centre-back left Stamford Bridge after a twenty-two year association with the London club when his contract expired last week and he has quickly settled on his next move.

A number of Premier League clubs plus Villa’s fierce rivals Birmingham City had been linked with a move for the thirty-six year old while their was also interest from clubs overseas.

He has put pen to paper on an initial twelve month deal with the Villains, who are currently favourites to win the Championship for the forthcoming season.

During his time with Chelsea, Terry made over seven hundred appearances in all competitions, scoring sixty-seven goals while he won fifteen major trophies, most of which while he was club captain.

He also skippered his country, for whom he won seventy-eight caps between 2003 and 2012.
