Aston Villa still want Bissouma

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Aston Villa are still interested in trying to sign Brighton & Hove Albion star Yves Bissouma.

At this moment in time, the Mali international has 18 months remaining on his current contract with the Seagulls. Graham Potter has insisted that he expects his current squad to still be in place by the time the January transfer window closes, and with Bissouma away on AFCON duty, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of time to negotiate a deal away anyway.

Aston Villa have already made some notable moves in the window thanks to the signing of Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne, but Steven Gerrard is desperate to go even further.

He believes that Villa are capable of doing some big things this season and it shows. Alas, with Brighton currently being positioned higher in the table than the boys from the second city, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for him to go right now.
