Aston Villa want Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma

Journalist Simon Dobson has claimed on Twitter that Aston Villa are interested in signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Bissouma is Villa’s number one transfer target this month after Lucas Digne, but the Seagulls are not willing to sell.

Bissouma is one of the better midfielders in the Premier League and is an important player for Brighton. The 25-year-old Mali international midfielder has made 14 appearances in the Premier League for Graham Potter’s side so far this season, providing one assist in the process.

Brighton are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 27 points from 19 matches. Meanwhile, Villa currently find themselves 14th in the standings with 22 points from 19 games.
