FA Cup finalists Aston Villa are weighing up summer swoop for Saint Etienne centre-back Florentin Pogba, L’Equipe has suggested.
With doubts surrounding the future of key defender Ron Vlaar, the Villans are in the market for his potential replacement.
L’Equipe has learned that Saint Etienne’s Florentin Pogba has emerged as one of their top targets.
The 24-year-old, whose younger brother Paul plays for Juventus, has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so, and he is almost certain to leave les Verts for greener pastures in the summer.
With Pogba’s deal at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard due to expire in just over a year, Saint Etienne have no choice but to sell, especially considering that the player has rejected their latest contract offer.
The Guinea international has only managed 16 league appearances this season, missing a number of games through injury and being away on international duty.
