Competition: Serie A
Market: Atalanta win and over 1.5 goals
Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365
With the chance to leapfrog Inter Milan, Atalanta will host relegation scrappers Genoa on Saturday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of another dominant display in their 3-1 win away at Lazio last week, few would have expected Atalanta’s stellar campaign. With a Coppa Italia Final to look forward to next month, Gian Piero Gasperini has seen his side win their last four matches on the bounce and their form in the final third has continued to impress many in Italy. Holding the best-attacking stats in the division, three more than defending champions Juventus, one man to watch on Saturday will be leading goalscorer, Duvan Zapata. Finding the net last weekend, the 28-year-old has bagged 25 goals across all competitions this season.
As for the visitors, while Atalanta might be enjoying a battle at the top end of the table, Genoa are enduring a very different battle at the other end. Holding just a four-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone, Cesare Prandelli’s men have now failed to win any of their last seven Serie A outings, a run that stems back to the middle of March. A huge part of Genoa’s struggles at the back end of the season has come down to their performances away from the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. I Rossoblu have failed to win any of their last seven matches on the road and have recorded just a single away victory since September.
