Atalanta have been knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Club Brugge in the play-off round, losing both legs and suffering a 2-5 defeat on aggregate. During the second leg in Italy, which La Dea lost by 1-3, Ademola Lookman, who scored their only goal of the game, missed a penalty that would’ve set the scoreline at 2-3 and given the Serie A side at least a small chance of progressing to the round of 16.
Speaking to the press after the game, head coach Gian Piero Gasperini said Lookman was “one of the worst penalty takers” he had ever seen.
