Serie A club Atalanta are said to be extremely keen on landing the France U-21 international Allan Saint-Maximin.
The 20-year-old is a forward who can play at left wing or as a striker and it is his versatility that made Atalanta fall in love with him in the first place.
Saint-Maximin only joined Nice this summer from AS Monaco in a €10 million deal but Atalanta have already approached the French outfit hoping to reach an agreement over a summer transfer, Sportitalia reports.
Atalanta reportedly eye Allan Saint-Maximin as a ‘dream’ and would not back down in their efforts to land the player who ‘would be ideal in Gian Piero Gasperini’s system’.
The experienced manager is doing a great job at Atalanta who are taking part in this year’s edition of the Europa League after a highly successful season in the Serie A.
La Dea are coming off from a frustrating summer which saw them lose several key first-team players such as Andrea Conti, Franck Kessie and Alessandro Bastoni, but the club worked hard to bring worthy replacements and Allan Saint-Maximin is eyed as another potential gem that would be a great fit for the team.
Atalanta continue their European exploits this Thursday at Lyon and can be found at 16/5 betting odds to record their second Europa League win after the compelling 3-0 triumph over Everton at the beginning of the campaign.
