According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Serie A side Atalanta are interested in the possibility of signing Daniel Sturridge. The 29 year old forward is currently a free agent after his departure from Liverpool, which is where he was first able to really make a name for himself on the European stage. Unfortunately a string of injuries led to him falling down the pecking order with the Reds, and while he has been a part of the squad for some big moments in recent years, he hasn’t quite had the kind of impact in front of goal that many would’ve been hoping for.
Now, he’s looking for a fresh start, and a switch to a team like Atalanta could provide him with the perfect platform to do just that.
Atalanta are coming off the back of an incredibly strong season, and Sturridge could thrive in their attack-minded starting XI this season.
