In-form Athletic Bilbao host Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga Basque derby tonight, with the two sides having little to play for at the tail-end of the season. Bilbao are in the top-half of the table, but are too many points away from catching the sides chasing a Europa League place, while Real Sociedad – currently 12th – are even further from Europe, and not in danger of finishing in the drop zone.

As a result, this evening’s dead rubber clash could see chances at a premium. Bilbao will be the driving force in the game, as they’ve been in considerably better form than their opponents, and the home side are 8/11 favourites with Ladbrokes to come away with all three points as a result.

With four wins from their last five home games, Bilbao are in fantastic shape to dispatch of David Moyes’ Real Sociedad side, who themselves are enduring a poor run of form in the league that has seen them winless in their last five games. The Basque outfit are particularly poor on the road – winning just one away game all season – so they aren’t in the best shape to stun the hosts.
