Competition: MLS
Market: Atlanta United win and both teams to score
Odds: 31/20 @ Bet 365
On Saturday night it is a battle of top vs bottom in the Eastern Conference as high-flying Atlanta United will welcome Wayne Rooney and DC United to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Starting with former Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino, although Atlanta are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders, the hosts bossed the game and have continued to shine in the final third. Now with just one MLS defeat at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium since November 2017, one man imparticular to watch is the MLS’ leading goalscorer Josef Martínez. With five goals in his last four outings, the 25-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe and also has 19 goals to his name already this year.
As for Ben Olsen’s side, although the visitors may currently sit bottom in the East, there is a new air of hope around DC and coming off the back of a 3-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps at their new 20,000 Audi Field stadium, United will be hoping to mount a late push up the table. However, after losing the reverse fixture 3-1 earlier in the season, we believe that a trip to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will come a tad soon. Backing Atlanta to get the win, but DC to also find the net seems like the best bet here.
