Atletic lining up Ighalo move

Atletico Madrid are eyeing a move for Watford striker Odion Ighalo, according to the Mirror.

The Nigeria international has been in stunning form for the Hornets in 2015, carry his Championship form through to the Premier League, where he has hit fourteen goals in nineteen appearances – a tally only bettered by Romelu Lukaku and Jamie Vardy who each have just one extra goal.

Atleti are on the lookout for a new striker after Jackon Martinez, their £25m summer signing from Porto has largely disappointed.

Martinez has been linked with a loan move to both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea and should he leave, the La Liga side will be likely to make their move for Ighalo.

Roma are also keen on signing the twenty-six-year-old though Quique Sanchez Flores will be reluctant to do business as it would mean an end to his deadly partnership with club captain Troy Deeney.
