Atletico agree deal for Augusto Fernandez
Atletico Madrid are set to announce Augusto Fernandez as the first signing of the January transfer window, according to AS.
Los Colchoneros were on the lookout for Tiago Mendes’ replacement and they appear to have found their man.
Just as we suggested a week ago, Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal for Celta Vigo captain Augusto Fernandez, with the official confirmation expected during the day.
The Sky Blues accepted a €6.5 million offer for their prized asset, with the Argentine set to sign a deal until June 2019.
Augusto Fernandez will be earning €1.8 million per campaign at Vicente Calderon, while his former club Velez Sarsfied are entitled to 50% of the transfer fee.
The 29-year-old has been at Celta Vigo since August 2012, and went on to make 113 La Liga appearances, scoring 11 goals.
PSG set for winter clearout
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are expected to offload at least three first team players in the January window, Le 10 Sport has claimed.
Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu is far from happy with the current situation considering that he has been playing second fiddle to summer recruit Kevin Trapp.
As a result, he has expressed his desire to leave the club in the January window, with several Serie A sides keen on his services.
Meanwhile, the Saints may be forced to cash in on the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gregory van der Wiel and Nicolas Douchez.
Namely, all three players will be out of contract at the end of the season and none is expected to extend his stay.
Having all but secured another league title, PSG will focus their efforts on the European campaign and they are 14/1 chance to lift the Champions League trophy.
Marseille, Bournemouth keen on Carlos Mane
Portuguese media outlet A Bola has suggested that a number of top sides are showing interest in Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects at Estadio Jose Alvalade and he has already shown a great deal of potential.
As a result, quite a few top clubs appear to be after his signature, with Marseille, Monaco and AFC Bournemouth reportedly top of the pile.
And even though Sporting see Mane as a great player for the future, they would consider offers in the region of €10 million.
The talented winger impressed to score 6 goals in 29 league outings last term, but he has only made a total of five league appearances this term having struggled through injury.
Mane, who can operate on either wing, currently has a contract until June 2020 with the second-placed side in Primeira Liga.
