Atletico agree deal for Siqueira; AC Milan close on Menez

Spanish daily newspaper Marca has learned that Atletico Madrid are set to sign Brazilian full-back Guilherme Siqueira from Granada.

The two clubs have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee which is believed to be around €10 million and the deal should be completed in the coming days.

Siqueira has been followed by quite a few of Europe’s top clubs, but los Colchoneros were the first to make their interest concrete.

With star defender Filipe Luis widely expected to leave Vicente Calderon this summer, the club officials believe his compatriot will be a very good replacement.

Guilherme Siqueira, 28, has fared well during the loan spell at Benfica, but the Eagles opted against turning his loan deal into permanent move due to the player’s high wage demands.

Prior to joining Benfica, the full-back had developed into one of the best left-backs in Spanish La Liga, having scored 12 goals in 70 top flight outings for Granada.

AC Milan close on Menez

AC Milan are on the verge of completing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Jeremy Menez, reports L’Equipe.

The Rossoneri are reportedly in advanced talks with the player’s agents over a summer move to San Siro and the agreement appears to be on the horizon.

Few other Serie A clubs were believed to be keen, but the latest reports are suggesting AC Milan have the upper hand.

Having failed to qualify for Europe, the Rossoneri do not have a lot of money to spend on new players, which is why they have turned their attention to the free agent market.

Jeremy Menez will become a free agent in less than a month and he looks set to become club’s second signing of the summer after Michael Agazzi also arrived on free.

According to L’Equipe, Milan officials are showing interest in PSG defender Alex as well, another player whose contract is set to expire.

Enzo Perez talks up Valencia switch

Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer move to Valencia.

The Argentina international is believed to be one of club’s priorities for the summer transfer window, with los Che reportedly ready to offer around €25 million for his services.

And following reports suggesting Perez was on the verge of joining the La Liga side, the player himself has now confirmed that is a realistic possibility.

“There is a possibility to play for Valencia after the World Cup,” the 28-year-old told TyC Sports in Argentina.

Following yet another impressive season at Estadio da Luz, where he won three major titles, Enzo Perez has been named in Argentina’s final squad for the 2014 World Cup, alongside club teammate Ezequiel Garay.

With Bosnia-Hercegovina, Nigeria and Iran the other three sides in Group F, los Albicelestes have been made 2/9 favourites to finish top of their group.
