Atletico Madrid have reached a total agreement with LOSC Lille over the transfer of Reinildo Mandava, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 28-year-old, who comes from Mozambique, is primarily a left-back, but perfectly capable of performing on the left side of midfield or as a winger.
Reinildo arrived from his homeland to Europe in 2016, joining Benfica’s ‘B’ side. After a number of loan spells, he moved on to Belenenses, and eventually joined Lille in January 2019. The move was an initial six-month loan before it was made permanent the following summer. In all competitions, he has represented the Ligue 1 champions on 87 occasions, scoring once. He is also a 31-cap Mozambique international.
The medical Reinildo is supposed to undergo ahead of the proposed move is set to take place today (Monday) in Madrid, but a report by L’Equipe suggests he will only sign a pre-contract with Atletico, before returning to finish the season with Lille.
Meanwhile, Atletico are closing in on a deal to sign Daniel Wass from Valencia too, though there are a couple of details still to be sorted between the clubs before the highly versatile 31-year-old makes the trip to the Spanish capital.
