Atletico Madrid are readying summer bid for Napoli hotshot Jose Callejon, L’Equipe has learned.
Los Colchoneros are actively searching for attacking reinforcements after a number of first team players left the club and they appear to be hot on the trail of the former Real Madrid starlet.
L’Equipe has suggested that Atletico are prepared to offer around €20 million for the 27-year-old, but it remains to be seen if Napoli will be ready to negotiate his sale.
Jose Callejon joined the Azzurri in a €9.5 million deal from Real Madrid last summer and he proved to be an instant hit at Stadio San Paoli.
The winger went on to make 37 league appearances in his first season at the club, scoring 15 goals and producing another 6 assists.
He is now being linked with a summer switch to Vicente Calderon, although it is not clear whether the midfielder is looking to return to Spanish La Liga.
