Atletico to bid for Vela
Spanish daily newspaper Marca understands that Atletico Madrid are showing interest in Real Sociedad star Carlos Vela.
Los Colchoneros have seen both Diego Costa and David Villa leave the club, meaning they are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.
And Marca has now suggested that Atletico officials have made Real Sociedad’s Carlos Vela their number one target.
The same source has learned that the Mexican has informed the club chiefs that it would be very difficult for him to reject an offer from Vicente Calderon.
Reaching an agreement over the transfer fee could prove to be difficult, with Atletico set to start the bidding at €10 million.
Carlos Vela has largely impressed in Spanish La Liga having joined from Arsenal, scoring a total of 42 goals and producing 27 assists in 107 league outings.
Porto eyeing Eder Balanta
FC Porto are readying summer bid for River Plate defender Eder Alvarez Balanta, reports Record.
The Dragons have come to terms with losing Eliaquim Mangala this summer and they see the Colombian starlet as a great long-term replacement.
Porto also aim to sign Chilean starlet Igor Lichnovsky, but he will initially be added to the B squad.
Record understands that Porto will have to pay €3.7 million for the 80 percent of Balanta that is currently owned by River Plate.
And while the Argentine giants look ready to cash in on their star player, they only aim to do so after the 2014 World Cup.
The 21-year-old centre-back will represent Colombia at the tournament finals in Brazil, where los Cafeteros are 5/6 to win Group C.
Udinese submit proposal for Ligue 1 hotshot
Serie A outfit Udinese have made an official offer for Bastia midfielder Wahbi Khazri, L’Equipe has suggested.
The Zebrette hope to reinforce the squad after what was one of the most disappointing seasons in recent years and they seem to have set their sights on the Tunisian winger.
L’Equipe has learned that Udinese have submitted an official proposal for the player who has just over a year left on his contract.
Wahbi Khazri has spent his entire career at Bastia and he has so far amassed 171 league appearances, scoring 32 goals in the process.
The 22-year-old played a key role as the Blues secured their return to the elite division two years ago and then went on to bag 13 goals in two top flight seasons.
Despite representing France at the Under-21 level, Khazri has switched his allegiance to Tunisia and has scored 3 goals in 7 caps for the national team.
