Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has added fuel to speculation linking Chelsea striker Fernando Torres with a return to Vicente Calderon.
Having struggled for playing time at Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard was loaned to AC Milan last summer, but he has since failed to make the desired impact.
And with the Rossoneri looking to cut the loan deal short, it appears Torres will again be on the market.
His former club Atletico Madrid appear set to offer him a second chance with chairman Enrique Cerezo having revealed a move for Torres is on the cards.
“The signing of Torres is not (completed). But, that does not mean it will not be,” Cerezo told TVE earlier today.
Los Colchoneros seriously reinforced the attacking department in the summer, adding the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Alessio Cerci, Raul Jimenez and Antoine Griezmann, but it appears they are ready to re-sign Torres as well.
The experienced forward has failed to get his career back on track, having netted just once in ten Serie A outings for AC Milan.
