Atletico Madrid are weighing up bid for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, Spanish daily AS has revealed.
Los Colchoneros were hoping to reinforce their midfield department with Jeremy Toulalan, but the Frenchman eventually opted to join Monaco instead.
As a result, Atletico officials have turned their attention elsewhere and are now believed to be pondering a move for French midfielder Etienne Capoue.
The problem is los Colchoneros are only prepared to offer around €5 million for the France international, which is way off Toulouse’s €10 million valuation.
Etienne Capoue has two years left on his deal at Stade Municipal and with clubs from English Premier League showing interest, his employers are not prepared to sell him on the cheap.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed his best season up to date, scoring 7 goals in 34 Ligue 1 appearances, while he was also on the scoresheet for France in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Belarus.
