Atletico Madrid are being linked with an ambitious double swoop for Napoli attackers Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon, Sport Mediaset has suggested.
Los Colchoneros look set to cash in on Mario Mandzukic and are in the market for attacking reinforcements.
According to Sport Mediaset, coach Diego Simeone has set his sights on Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon, two players who had previously represented arch rivals Real Madrid.
Both footballers managed to kick-start their careers at Napoli after struggling at Santiago Bernabeu, but they could decide to quit the Azzurri if they fail to secure Champions League qualification.
Gonzalo Higuain has relished the opportunity to play on regular basis at Stadio San Paolo and has so far notched 52 competitive goals in two seasons at the club.
Meanwhile, Jose Callejon has been in excellent form as well, having managed 26 goals and 8 assists in 73 Serie A outings for the Azzurri.
